There are events that you visit, have a good time and go home. And then there are events that have something extra in them – an idea, an emotion, an atmosphere and a feeling that you were part of something beautiful. That is exactly what we want MARAJÁLES 2026 – Majáles on Gréta to be.
We would like to invite you to experience a May evening that will combine pleasant meetings, good food, music, traditions and a beautiful idea for our region. Not because we are just preparing another event for the calendar, but because we believe that even an event can have a soul. And that when the beautiful environment at Liptovská Mara and a program that makes sense come together, an event is created that will be remembered for a long time.
A Maypole that also has a story
At Gréta Resort, we decided that we wanted to organize events that would not only be a pleasant experience, but also bring something valuable to our surroundings. One such project is the idea of supporting the uniqueness of the nature trail from Liptovská Mara to Kvačianska dolina.
This trail is now used by cyclists, families with children, locals and visitors to the region who come here to relax, take a walk or simply find peace. However, we would like it to be even more interesting and to offer something more than just beautiful views. Our idea is to gradually bring a piece of history into this space and remind us of the crafts that were once part of everyday life in Liptov, but are slowly disappearing from it today.
That is why the Forgotten Crafts Project was created . On a roughly fifteen-kilometer circuit (where the circuit leads you can find in the QR code in this link https://gretaresort.sk/podujatia/propozicie-vii-rocnika-greta-runliptovska-mara-kvacianska-dolina-spat/ ), we would like to gradually place wooden statues of traditional professions. These will not be just artistic elements in the landscape. They will be stops that will remind us of the life of our ancestors, their work, skills and everyday life. There will be a bench by each statue, a place for a short rest, reflection or quiet observation of water and nature. A place where a person can stop for a moment, take a breath and maybe tell their children or grandchildren who was a tinker, a coal miner or a wheelwright.
It is a project that we are sincerely pleased with. Because we believe that today's world needs not only movement and experiences, but also slowing down, a story and contact with where we come from. And MARAJÁLES 2026 will be its beautiful beginning.
A carving competition that will leave something lasting
The event will include a carving competition in carving sculptures of forgotten crafts , which will take place from May 7 to 10, 2026. During these days, the Gréta Resort area will be transformed into a place of creation, craft and skilled hands. Carvers will work directly with us on works that will have not only artistic but also symbolic value.
Tinker, coal miner and wheelwright , each of these crafts has its place in the history of our region and each of them deserves to be remembered. What is also exceptional is that visitors will not only see the finished sculptures, but also the entire process of their creation. The wood will be transformed before their eyes into figures with a story and character - and this will have a unique atmosphere.
After the competition, the resulting sculptures, along with benches, will be placed on the Liptovská Mara – Kvačianska dolina nature trail . This means that the result of this competition will not remain just a memory for one weekend. It will remain here for people who will pass through this area for many years to come.
We are very happy that this project was able to be started thanks to the cooperation and support of people who care about the region. The material for the sculptures will be provided by Urbár Liptovská Sielnica , thanks to whom this nice idea can start to turn into reality.
Main evening: May 9, 2026 at Stodol Gréta
MARAJÁLES 2026 itself will culminate on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the premises of Stodola Gréta . From 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM, you can expect an evening that will be exactly what a good May Day should be - lively, tasty, cheerful and full of people who have come to meet, have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of spring.
We want our guests to feel comfortable from the first moment. So that it is not contrived, but natural. So that you come, sit down, have something good, meet familiar and new people and feel that you are in a place where you feel good. This is exactly how we imagine this evening.
Homemade flavors that belong to May Day
Majáles would simply not be complete without the aroma of good food. That's why we've included competitions in the program that will be for honest homemade goodies and for everyone who loves to bake, cook, or make something with their heart.
The competition will be for:
The best homemade cake
You can enter a homemade cake with a minimum weight of 2 kg into the competition so that as many people as possible can taste and evaluate it. We will be looking for taste, honesty, the smell of home, and a recipe that reflects experience and love for baking.
The best homemade sausage
Here too, the minimum weight is 2 kg . Visitors will certainly appreciate good meat, the right spices, craftsmanship and the true homemade taste.
The best bread oven
Bread has something special about it – simplicity, tradition and a strong symbol of home. That is why the competition for the best loaf of bread will be one of those that will attract a lot of attention. It is possible to enter bread in a total quantity of at least 2 kg.
The visitors themselves will evaluate the event using the marked part of their ticket.
In all three categories, a wonderful prize awaits the winner - 3 tickets to New Year's Eve 2026 at Stodol Gréta . It is a prize that will certainly please and at the same time give even more motivation to the competitions.
Music that creates the right atmosphere
The evening will also have a lot of musical energy. The main attraction of the program will be Ploštín Punk , who will bring to Stodola Gréta the atmosphere, flair and temperament that a spring celebration deserves. Their performance will be one of the moments that will excite the whole evening and make sure that a good meeting becomes a really great fun.
The entire evening will be accompanied by DJ Majco (Krupa media) , who will make sure that the energy doesn't let up even in the later hours. Whether you come to sit, chat, or even dance, the program will have a pleasant pace from the beginning until the night.
What does the entrance fee include?
The entrance fee to the event is €25 and the price includes a pot goulash from chef Gréta Resort and a 0,5l drink (kofola or beer from the Liptovar craft brewery) . We wanted the evening to be not only attractive in terms of program, but also pleasant and hospitable. So that you come to a place where we will take care of you, where good food awaits you and where you can enjoy everything we have prepared without worries.

This event is for everyone who loves Liptov, meeting people, good music, honest tastes and events that have a natural atmosphere.
